Hey guys! This blog is officially alive and back in shape woohoo! Many moons ago, I was a weak duck with zero personality. I deleted many posts from this popular (indeed, I was a popular blogger back in....well, many moons back) blog simply because I blogged about a huge music school - obviously all about my humble experiences there - and I got shut down by the Music Director.
Life has gone on - whether I get shut down or not - I have grown, hopefully mentally and musically.
Actually, I have grown most in my ability to feel my settings. I know, almost immediately now, based on experiences - who to offend, what to respect, when to engage a lawyer and how to deliver myself in an accurate manner.
Anyway, no need to start all serious - how are you guys? Thank you for reading my silly blog, and supporting my piano journey. I stayed true to classical, but branched out to Pop style, and attempted to develop my pianistic style here.
I started playing the piano when my parents migrated from China (GZ & SZ). My first teacher used technical books immediately on me - Hanon, Czerny, John Thompson. For a couple of years, my first teacher worked solely on my technique. Technique is defined as the way you use your hands, fingers and posture to play the piano.
In my upcoming posts, I will share my personal piano learning journey, my teaching journey in Singapore, and most importantly, my learnings from life as a piano teacher.
I hope you enjoy reading this blog - and of course, may music find you.
