Everyone needs to take a chill pill after my last published post here. We now have an army of arguments and things are definitely not prettyy....
Then again, welcome to the world of the Arts & Culture, basically anything that is not about Math.
Opinions are ever-changing and situations are fluid. You never know what is true or real... gamble baby!

In my last post, I laid the egg that music is a sense. I argued that music does not just come from ears, the eyes, or even muscle memory. Music is sensing when to use/do what.
H.o.w.e.v.e.r.
Music has to be learnt via the eye - how to see a score from a staff (hopefully we are all classically-trained from the very start in this room). I truly believe that at the very base of your music/piano journey, you must must must learn from a physical score, where you look at every single note and match your fingering to it, combining line by line, phrase by phrase, before sitting into both hands.
The aural/listening part comes later - to me.
The musicianship, showmanship and performance flair come at the very end - to me.
I like to weapon myself with single hand, separate hands and both hands, before stripping off and returning to one-hand, then this is where appreciation of dynamics, articulation, musicality and performance come in. Combination of looking at the physical score and hearing how the notes sound like will naturally bring out a pinch of musicality. Seasoned musicians may flair up their showmanship at this junction.
I assure you all, nearly no one.... is able to hear their music, or perform their music, at the very start. And you shouldn't be hearing actually, you should be watching and looking carefully...
Damn it.... did my argument went way off? Am I now arguing that music is sight-reading??!!!!!
.... shit.
And this is exactly what music is all about, it is a sense. You sense when to engage the eyes, when to engage the ears and muscles, when to disregard dynamics because the Steinway has such a sensitive touch, when to cut off the coda because you sense the impatience of the audience (no hate for non-musicians though)...
There is no one-straight-line in the world of music. Music is a circle.
